Join hosts Dick and Jackie Whitmore plus Jenna Saldaña on a trip through San Lorenzo, Camoapa, Matagalpa, El Sauce, and Ciudad Dario. We will look at different types of projects in the different regions, hear from the people who live there and whose lives have been changed because of the projects. We will hike through the watersheds and learn about the impact of deforestation and what El Porvenir is doing to counteract it.
We'll take advantage of the travel time to discuss water, sanitation, and reforestation needs and solutions in Nicaragua. We'll have short drives between the towns and see much of central Nicaragua. Matagalpa is a bigger city, but the other areas are all small towns where El Porvenir partners with people. You'll notice the micro-climates as we travel from one place to another.
$550 includes airport transfers, all meals and lodging, in-country transportation, interpreters, and guides.
