E-GIVING
Zelle is a great way to give: no fees and no checks lost in the mail. Most banks offer no-cost Zelle to give directly from your account. Use jenna@elporvenir.org or 720-236-9158 to donate directly to El Porvenir.

QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTION (QCD) & REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION (RMD)
If you are 70½ years or older, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA. You can donate up to $108,000 per year directly to eligible charities.
Not only will your gift make a difference in the lives of rural Nicaraguans, but by making a QCD directly to El Porvenir, the amount is not counted as taxable income for you.

If you're 73 or older and required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), a gift to El Porvenir via your IRA can help you meet your RMD without the funds being included as taxable income for you.
Benefits:

No income taxes on the gift. When made directly from your IRA, the gift doesn't add to your taxable income, so you benefit even if you don't itemize your deductions.

Since the gift is not part of your income, it can reduce your annual income level, may lower your Medicare premiums, and may decrease the amount of Social Security subject to tax.

STOCKS/BONDS
Make an impact by donating appreciated securities, including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, directly to El Porvenir. You don't pay capital gains tax on donated securities when donating directly to El Porvenir.
